The sites is doing nothing but allowing racist, prejudice people get away with racism and discrimination 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a public forum that anyone who wants to post how their feeling can’t, because the whole site only shows one post after the other of racist, prejudice, or defamatory remarks to people who are not of certain races. I think the fact that Craigslist is allowed to exist, even though it’s Rants & Raves sections are only filled with posts containing abusive, obscene, offensive, or vulgar pictures or language is infringing on the very rights a person has to be able to discuss matters on a site without having to be subject to abuse or discrimination. Craigslist offers no “Report Abuse” button. It only offers a flagging button, in which people have to guess how many times to press it over and over and over again, in order to get that abusive and creepy poster off of Craigslist for that one time. This is why I think it should be shut down. Anyone, a teenager, can get on it by the press of a button and post whatever they like that is racist or discriminatory, that is about another person, and never be found again! It serves no purpose but for people to be able to get on there and abuse each other any way they like, just so long as their mom or dad are not around and the law isn’t looking at them and protecting people’s rights like they are actually on the Internet, which can be as dangerous as CyberSpace.
DustinS Interesting, but I think as long as people are paying for the Internet every month, they’re paying for a $ 1,000 T.V. to be entertained once in a while, and they are paying to live in some place, I think they have a right to complain about what is shown on those things or around those areas. To tell people, “Hey, watch our show on a T.V. we sold you, but don’t complain about what we air is wrong.” No, that’s not how it works. That’s why adult programs need extra payment so that they know kids are watching it for free and getting adult ideas that adults can actually comprehend and say, “Well, I wouldn’t do that, because that’s ridiculous. I wouldn’t do that, because THAT’S WRONG. I know that, because I’m an adult with a developed brain, a brain that is done developing and knows how to survive in the world.” As long as people are paying for services, no one has a right to put anything they want on a site or a T.V. that is offensive, because a person is paying to not be offended!

I know that that’s stupid, because I’m an adult with a developed brain, a brain that is done developing and knows how to survive in the world.” As long as people are paying for services, no one has a right to put anything they want on a site or on a T.V. that is offensive, because a person is paying to not be offended and to have a service to entertain them! That’s why adult services, cable, and the Internet need a credit card.

I agree. The rants and raves is just for people to talk about racist things. Everyone who has an ignorant opinion runs rampant on the internet because there are not social costs or punishment.
I also think the personals should be taken down because a lot of those are filthy and I would not recommend meeting anyone on Craigslist….I can’t believe some companies advertise jobs on there, so unprofessional.
