This is completely a hypothetical question, Im just interested in what rights I would have if I move away..
Here’s the story..
6 years ago I met a girl at a local restaurant bar, and we hit it off well. She was in town for business and lived 200 miles away. Within 6 months she came to live with me in my home town. We lived their for 5 years and in Jan 2009 we found out we where going to have a baby. After doing my homework on the local schools, crime level, Drop out rate, and info about my neighborhood. We decided it was not the best place to raise a child. so I put the house up for sale and started looking for a new place to move… Long story short, We moved way out in the country 1.3 miles from her parents house.. At the time it made sense to me, the schools where very good, crime was very low, House prices where low and came with a ton of land. It seemed like the perfect country place to live and start a family…
Well we sold the house and bought another one by july 09 and we have been living here ever since. The baby is born and he is a perfect little boy. He is almost 5mos old now and we are happy as a family.
BUT…. I HATE it here! It takes 2 hours to go anywhere, And her family is driving me crazy! They show up all hours of the day and night uninvited, The walk right in my house without knocking. If where not home they will go inside the house and chill until we do get home. When I lock them out (and im home) They beat on the door for hours until someone opens it. None of them come together, they always show up 2-4 at a time, so when one set leaves within 30mins another set comes.. When I hide the cars they drive up and down the road every hour until they see the cars and if I never bring them out they will show up at midnight beating on the door.
Her mother sneaks in the house to “check on us without bothering us” One time I was taking a bath and came out and she was asleep on my freaking bed! Their crazy people that have no concept of privacy at all.
I had to grab her brother by the neck because he would not quit taking food my house. I told him three times that my house is not a store and he acted like I was joking. And Its not like he takes butter. He would stop by just to take $ 50 worth of meat from the freezer. After I choke slammed him he quit but now him and his wife comes by and sets all day long waiting on someone to cook and offer him food.
Her family is honestly crazy, They are all loony as daffy duck. I can’t stand to be in the room with any of them for more then 10 mins. no lie. I mean it is bad. I left the TV on one day wile I went to the store. I locked the door and when I got back her dad had took a screwdriver and pried my door open (breaking the door) because “He thought someone was home and needing help” None of them know how to use a phone at all.
Ive talked to them and my girlfriend about this until im blue in the face. She don’t want to hurt her family’s feelings and when I tell her family anything they pretend it never happened or play it off like im joking.
Maybe this is just country living…. But it’s not for me. I like my privacy. I told my girlfriend from the first day we decided to move that I would give it ONE YEAR and if I don’t like it Im moving.. And unless this area gets hit hard with the super flu and kills off 75% of everyone, I will be moving.
Since we have moved here my girlfriend has changed completely. I still love her, but she is one of them. She enjoys it. And I honestly believe when it comes time for me to move, She will NOT move with me. Her, I don’t care about as much. I will miss her, But OH WELL. I would rather spend the rest of my life in a normal area then die at 30 from a self inflected gun shot wound living here.
The only issue is the baby. I love my boy. I don’t want to spend a day away from him. He is my whole life..
So if I move and she won’t come with me, What are my rights as a father?

FYI: I have honestly done everything I can do to at least lower my prob. Ive changed the locks, just to find out my girlfriend gave them a key the next day. Im set them down and talked to them, And I have threaten them. Ive installed a driveway gate, Just to have them drive around it. Ive even packed the family up the moment they show up so we can leave and they go away. They will either set in the driveway the whole time where gone, ask to stay inside my house until we get back (or do it anyway) or drive by the house every 30 mins until we get back… They start at 7am, and sometimes don’t leave until 2am..
Everytime I TELL them to leave, My girlfriend folds under the pressure and tells them ” naa it’s ok you can stay as long as you like”
And I can’t do anything with her. I even left her for 4 days hoping she would see that im gone forever unless she has her family back off. She did not care. Hell when I came bac

omg they are very annoying! I honestly dont know how u lasted this long. They probably think u guys are fascinating b/c youre from the the big city lights. IDK but id been left.
