What are the relative long-term health effects of 1 cigarette and 1 alcoholic beverage on a 26-year-old?

Question by whatdoyouallthink: What are the relative long-term health effects of 1 cigarette and 1 alcoholic beverage on a 26-year-old?
Which is worse and how? I smoke infrequently and drink very little… I want to know if I’m up for a drink or a smoke (one or two of either, but not both) which I should choose. Does one scale worse than the other… what about 3 cigarettes on a long walk (but then none for a month) or 3 drinks at a party? Pretend that my choice does not affect others negatively – I’m smoking in an open space with no one around me for miles, or I’m drinking in the safety of a private function, and designated drivers and conscientious friends abound. Nor should we concern ourselves about the possibility of addiction. It’s just a “let’s pretend”, okay folks? On a strict personal health basis what are the effects of one cigarette and one beer (or wine or whiskey) on one’s body?

one cigarette and one drink isn’t going to do anything…
fifteen minutes later the nicotine is already clearing out of your body that is if you don’t replace it with another, this is why it becomes addictive.
