My sister is a Drug addict, how can I get full custody of her 3 year old boy? He needs a home and love…?

Question by Smithy: My sister is a Drug addict, how can I get full custody of her 3 year old boy? He needs a home and love…?
My sister has been addicted to drugs for about 4- 5yrs now. She started with her boyfriend at the time ( now husband) and got caught landing up in prison, she came out eventually- and fell pregnant with her son. The boyfriend and her got married, but all went pear shaped after that. He got high and started doing it again, eventually burnt down their flat and she had enough and left him… We thought things were getting better – but again were fooled. She lived with both my other sisters and mother for a while but always seen to leave, costing everyone loads of money – we even sent her to rehab but nothing has helped. She worked for my sister – stole to feed her habit – an addict definitely never stops… always wants when life gets too tough !!
This has all happened in South Africa, so Im not sure about the rules on how to get full custody?
I am currently in the UK but ready to return to look after him- how do I make sure he will be mine ?
I want to give him a home of love, support and education. He is 3 and needs support I know she is far to high to give it to him.
What do I do ? any advise !!
( oh about the father- he has no contact with his son or wife and the last I heard was in rehab but out now, and supposedly “clean” for a month and a half ) he has right to the child but if i prove he has never been around will I have a chance ? )
