My Favorite Three Celebrity Christians
My Favorite Three Celebrity Christians
Christians in the famously liberal Hollywood are hard to come by, but if you search hard enough you can find a few lurking around. Often they have to keep a low profile and try not to talk too much about their religious beliefs or else they’ll probably be blacklisted from working in Hollywood. Here is a list of a few of my favorite celebrity Christians.
Mel Gibson
Oh, Mel, gotta love him. The drunk driving, poker chip playing, anti-Semitic comment spewing crazy man who is also Jesus’ number one fan. You can’t ignore that Gibson is a talented guy, possibly even a misunderstood genius. His follow-up to “The Passion of the Christ,” “Apocalypto” was much better than anyone had imagined it would be. No matter what Gibson does, it is sure to court controversy.
Billy Corgan
The ex-Smashing Pumpkins singer has alienated most of his fans and band mates in recent years because of his diva like behavior and increasingly fanatical Christian views. He has recently started writing a book of Christian poetry and thought that will likely be published and sneered at by critics of the singer. With recent rumors that he has hooked up with and is dating beleaguered country/pop singer Jessica Simpson, he may have hit the Christian jackpot.
Gary Busey
Gary Busey has been through some rough times. Increasingly paranoid and schizophrenic behavior, as well as a cocain addiction led him to an appearance on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. His addictions weren’t helped by Busey’s motorcycle accident in 1988 which it is believed had a greater affect on his cognition than it was originally believed. Busey was encouraged by a psychiatrist on the Celebrity Rehab show to take a drug called Depakote to treat bipolar disorder and epilepsy. Busey is longstanding Christian who has recently penned a number of Proverb-like Busy-isms like “Faith: Fantastic Adventures In Trusting Him” and “Fraud: Finding Relevant Answers Under Deception.”
