to be successful in calculus, your algebra needs to be sharp & fresh, when my students struggle, it is almost always because of the algebra involved in solving calculus problems,
linear algebra, is a study of matrices, a strong algebra background, particularly understanding systems of equations, is required
matrix methods is a course after linear algebra, more matrices, more methods,
I HIGHLY recommend taking the placement test & working your way up to calculus, you will also need a fresh trig background, particularly trig identities & the unit circle
start with making sure your algebra skills are strong, if you are successful there, then you will be fine! 🙂
feel free to email me if you have more questions – good luck 🙂
