is neuroticism positive or negative?

Question by Josh H: is neuroticism positive or negative?
it seems i am a fairly neurotic person. i tend to self destruct if left to my own devices and practice maladaptive behaviors. i enjoy getting f u c k e d up. in fact sometimes thats the only thing i have to look forward to. might be pathetic to you, but i dont feel at peace with myself or surroundings EVER until i hold hands with a chemical.

i’ve almost died from withdrawals sometimes but thats ok because to go that low you can only imagine what the peak of this wave of euphoria was like.

dysfunctional is not lacking the ability to function. it is functioning in pain (“dys” = pain). after years of searching you find a cure to this chronic ailment but at the cost of dependency. what once was the solution is just another device i use to self destruct.

what is the point in pursuing happiness, and at what cost is it worth not pursuing anymore?

is it better to accept that i won’t ever be satisfied with this world or to pretend tomorrow will be better?
