Question by The Dude: Have you seen an epidemic of Heroine or Oxycontin addiction in your area?
I live near Detroit and it used to be a inner city thing but in the last couple of years it has moved in to the suburbs. I’m talking even the rich suburbs. It seems that the kids are spreading Oxy’s that they steal from their parents or from their parent’s pharmacies at local schools. Eventually it leads to Heroine use because Heroine is so much cheaper but is the same basic drug. I am a recovering Heroine addict myself (5 years sober) but it seems that 90% of the people coming into recovery groups are young kids and are dying almost on a daily basis when they relapse.

Is this a Detroit area thing here or have you seen it in other cities?

YES… suburbs outside of DC in MD SOOOO sad!
