Birth Control, parenting issue?
Question by C Erin D: Birth Control, parenting issue?
I’m fifteen. I’ve been in a relationship with this boy for 4 months, and I’ve never cared about someone more. I’m not a virgin, neither is he.. and we’ve been having sex since the first week we went out but anyway.. I told my mom I wanted birth control. She said she would set up the appointment. That was a few weeks ago. Today is the 22nd of December and my appointment is scheduled for tomorrow @ 3:30. I called my mom, and I asked her what time the appt. was. She told me three thirty but she would have to cancel because the lady leaves the place at 4:00pm, and my mom doesn’t get done work until 4:00pm. So she would rescheduled until about two weeks from now I guess. But as i was on the phone with my mom, my dad comes in and goes “Let me talk.. to your mother.” So i said hold on, and gave him the phone. He walked out onto the porch and i followed secretly cause I wanted to know what he wanted to talk to her about. All i heard him say was, “NO, SHE IS NOT GOING TO THE GYNOCOLOGIST GINNY (GIN [like the alcoholic drink)- KNEE), CANCEL THE APPOINTMENT CAUSE CHELSEA IS NOT STEPPING FOOT IN THE OFFICE. SHE IS NOT BEING TOLD THAT SHE IS ALLOWED TO HAVE SEX.”
I ran back down the hallway and he handed the phone to me. My mom said to forget about him, the only thing she couldn’t do now was use my dads insurance card. So she would just have to pay.
I just don’t understand… If he doesn’t let me get birth control, that’s not going to stop me from having sex… at all. I’m just going to continue to do it. & For all of you who wanna tell me to respect my fathers wishes or whatever, absolutely not. My dad’s a drug addict and he has been my whole life. He does NOTHING for me, he just buys his methamphetamine and his weed. He knows nothing about me at all. I don’t listen to anything he says, I pierced my nose and when he told me to take it out I ignored him.. anyway, whats your opinion on the ‘dad saying no’ issue?

Go to Planned Parenthood and pay 25 dollars for a month’s supply of birth control. They will give you a check up and instruct you how to use the pills. You don’t need insurance to go there either, and you don’t have to tell your parents.
