What programs to help alcohol addiction BESIDES AA?

Question by : What programs to help alcohol addiction BESIDES AA?
I want to stop drinking again. I had stopped for 9 months and had a sip of my friends margarita at a restaurant. My sponsor told me I obviously wasn’t committed to quitting b/c of this. I felt like that whole nine months was a waste and the thought of starting over made me freak out. She told me I might as well get drunk since I had messed up. She also had tried to make me quit taking lexapro against my doctors advice. Those AA people are NOT doctors many of them don’t even have a college degree yet they act like they are the gods of alcohol. So I am asking where else I can go. Please don’t tell me this was just my group, I went all over the city of phoenix and they were all alike.

Yes,AA member should not tell anyone to stop taking medication, some of the old times believed you wasn`t really sober if your took any meds, for depression or anything.. I was told by a old timer that the only secret to staying sober for a long long time, was don`t drink and don`t die. go see a good therapist. have you been ordered by a judge, or job reasons to go to AA? but sometimes we stop going to meetings because we just don`t want to listen to what we need to hear..
