Some Indiana retailers are objecting to their portrayal as greedy by Vigo County Sheriff Jon Marvel, who is encouraging a prescription-only sales policy for pseudoephedrine products in the battle to stop illegal methamphetamine production in the Wabash Valley.

Cold medicine goes prescription-only Requirement breeds customer frustration
Photo By THERESE APEL As of Thursday, House Bill 512 made it a requirement that anyone who wants to purchase medicines containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine have a prescription. Many cold and sinus medicines will now only be for sale with a doctor’s permission.
