Question by madsausage: I formatted my computer with a recovery disk and now i can’t update my computer.?
my computer had a serious virus so i decided to use the recovery disk i was asked to make when i first got my computer. it did not let me do a repair recovery so i formatted my computer. and now when i try to update my computer to SP3 it can download it and install halfway but then fails. i also tryed to install internet explorer 8 but it said it failed to update. any help?

I have windows xp media center edition SP2.

I had the same problem with my Media Center PC and I had to end up calling Microsoft to go through a manual activation process. Call them!
