Question by Court: I was watching Intervention the other day, and now I have a couple of questions about anorexia…?
1) How long does it take for them to get that scary skinny? That really doesn’t happen overnight, and without food you die.
2) Everyone keeps telling me that without food you die, how come these people are still alive?
3) The girl on the show was also an alcoholic. Isn’t it easier to get alcohol poisoning when you’re super thin?
Not considering it, but with what everyone has told me when I asked them these, I completely forget what they have said.

You really don’t want to be anorexic. Anorexics don’t get any pleasure out of their ridiculous skinniness because no matter how much they lose they still think they’re fat. They never end up happy.
And I know several people who ended up in the hospital because their anorexia progressed so far. It’s a form of mental illness, so contrary to common belief they never fully “recover” from it. They just learn to cope with it slightly better.
