Would you rather be addicted to something legal or illegal?

Question by 805gabe: Would you rather be addicted to something legal or illegal?
I know its best to not be addicted to anything but this is just an either or question.

I feel like being addicted to something legal is much more difficult to quit since its all around us. On the other hand if you are addicted to something illegal its probably easier to keep it out of your life. I for example don’t drink coffee and try to stay away from caffeine as a whole because I’ve been around people who can’t even think in the morning until they have their first cup of coffee. It’s kind of sad but we tolerate it because we’ve grown up with it. Replace a “cup of coffee” with “meth” and you get my point.

I feel like if you are addicted to something illegal, you can keep yourself away from it. It’s a lot more difficult to get an illegal drug than a legal drug so that acts as a deterrent.

Well as far as addiction is concerned, it is very difficult to remain away from it, after getting one. I personally believe that getting addicted is not a benificial thing always, even if u r addicted to do something good. For e.g. u talked about the people who drink coffee every morning like they are addicted to it, and u ask anybody about this and they’ll say “what’s wrong in having a coffee in the morning? It’s rather good if u drink one daily”. But let me tell u dear friend, what if, one fine day, due to some circumstances they don’t get their daily coffee. U wont believe, they’ll go half mad and will do anything to get one.

The point that I want to make is its not an addiction that makes u do good, its your mental strength or in other words, the power in your mind to make yourself do anything that is required to do the best, and even to restrict yourself from going low.

In the end, my suggestion is “Don’t make an addiction to anything, even if it is a good thing, or have the power to be free from it, when the situation calls for”.
