Would this count as a relapse?
Question by Christian B: Would this count as a relapse?
I’m a recovering addict with an addiction to internet porn. I haven’t visited any pornographic websites or looked at any online porn videos for almost 6 months now. However, there’s this woman named Jayden Jaymes who I think is beautiful & has an insanely hot body. On occasion, I’ll go to google & look @ pictures of her. During those times, I’ll come across a naked picture of her. I won’t enlarge the picture, but I do notice it. Does noticing that picture count as a relapse in terms of my recovery? I’m really not sure which is why I’m asking.
Another thing, for those who don’t know, she(Jayden Jaymes) is a porn star.

Well, this is a bit of a tricky issue, and I would say that the answer is related to your feelings about it : do you feel like it is a relapse? Obviously, you must have some misgivings about it, or you wouldn’t be asking the question here.
I am a recovering addict myself, and my advice would be to stop Googling her, since you know that – with her being a porn start – there is a good chance naked images will show up. Or, you could set your search settings to “Safe” or “Moderate” so no nude images are returned.
Would I say this is an actual relapse? I don’t think so. But I would say it is a very slippery slope, and that you should avoid any such events in the future. You did the right thing though – you told on yourself, which says that you are committed to your recovery. Good job, and best of luck : )
