Would a written letter hold any weight as evidence in Court?

Question by Weber: Would a written letter hold any weight as evidence in Court?
i live in a townhome, next door to a woman who is mentally messed up. she has stopped taking her meds and replaced them with street drugs.
paranoid pschyz..IED….scary, mixed with meth, or crack, or whatever “speed” she’s been taking for years.
she harasses people in this culdesac i live in, and she has targeted me. she has called 911 so many times since she’s moved in, i couldn’t give you a number if i tried. she especially hates me.
i’ve tried every tactic. tried being friendly. but if she gets angry (remember, we are talking about extreme paranoia) revenge is thick! non stop 911 calls for made up reasons. constant complaints to the office manager. calling DFS on me. and now..Now? she has went into another county to get a restraining order to cost us our home. i know it sounds crazy, and it is, but this is the absolute truth.
so tomorrow, early in the morning, i have to go to court, she accusing me of stalking her, but the papers are Crazy. not matching up…
the lady on the other side of this mean woman moved in a few years ago. she has been having problems as well.
my question is this: will a letter stand up as witness in court without her physically being there?
i will post the letter.

it reads,

9-27-10

To Whom It May Concern: (i’m not messing with caps, sorry)

i have had many problems with my neighbor, Shirley. For example, the first day i moved into _____ ____ apartments,, she had called the cops on me because my mother parked in her parking spot. Also, about a month ago, she called the police on me three times in one week. The first time she called because my sister was too loud when she went up and down the stairs. The second and third time, she called the police because my daughter (she is three years old) was being too oud. She blows little thigs out of proportion. I think she has some type of mental problem. She always thinks someone is trying to break in her house or car. This happens on a daily basis. She also thought one of my neighbors was a undercover FBI agent. She has told me that the maintenance lady from _____ ____ [apartments] turns the lights off outside our apartments [at night], if you have any questions, you can contact me.

Sincerely,

witness who wrote letter cant attend.
on the paperwork, she lied about what county we both live in, because if she tried to do this in our own county, she has a record. she may have tried in our own county, and got denied. i have had no time to prepare for this. it just dropped out of the sky!
i do not have court experience and am nervous and afraid. i know i can’t get in trouble because i am honest and only tell the truth, but sometimes the good guy doesn’t always win..
i do have a lawer who will attend. i will present this letter to him..but do you think it holds weight in court, without the witnesses physical presence?
i really need answers. thank you <3 aside from the letter, which shows that this neighbor doesnt bother only me, i have my mother go as a witness, and my stepfather. i'm thinking about taking my 14 year old son, who would be an excellent witness. about my son..do you think it's a good idea to bring him in as a witness? would it hold weight?
