Why is it that Christians will accept all science except when science conflicts with the bible?

Question by By the Way…: Why is it that Christians will accept all science except when science conflicts with the bible?
I hear things such as “scientists can only give us theories… it isn’t necessarily fact.” But then, to “prove” that their lifestyle is a “better” choice, they use “statistics” for things such as what happens to couples who engage in premarital sex. So, why is evolution fake, but the “dangers” of premarital sex are real? They both sprung from a type of science, something Christians frequently discredit when it comes to anything that might contradict the “facts” of the bible…

I seriously don’t understand this mentality. Someone explain.
