Why doesn’t the government legalise drugs? from a non drug user perspective?

Question by kawasaki dude: Why doesn’t the government legalise drugs? from a non drug user perspective?
if people want to kill themselves with drugs then why not just let them?

if people dont want to contribute to society then leave them be and stop throwing them in prisons that the taxpayer funds, or rehabilitation centers with minimal success rates.

why not take the huge profits away from the growers, smugglers and dealers and produce and tax it ourselves…. actually why not just flood the streets with bad heroin/product and let them wipe themselves out.

i do know a few people who smoke cannabis and still lead perfectly productive lives but cannabinoids are not what im referring to.

western governments have spent vast sums of money for decades on the “war on drugs” and it’s clearly not working.

tell the afganistani farmers to stop growing it, grow food crops instead or in 6 months we will render your fields infertile for 5 years

we tax and keep the most dangerous drug legalised…. alcohol so why not do it to others.

let the verdict of “death by misadventure” echo throughout the lands and let that be the deterrent for those considering drugs

can anyone tell me why we dont legalise them?

Legalize them, and tax the hell out of them. I am all for it!!! As long as I don’t have to foot any kind of tax or cost for it, since I do not do drugs.
