Why do people try to blame crime on methamphetamine?

Question by STRAUSSIAN: Why do people try to blame crime on methamphetamine?
It’s silly, especially when suspects in court claim that they were “out of their minds” due to meth.

That’s nonsense. Look; I used to use a great deal of meth. And I never experienced any urge toward violence while high. I was also able to quit at will without any “withdrawal” (withdrawal is yet another made-up thing).

Meth amplifies what is already in your mind. So if you are an evil person who has to summon all your will to keep yourself from being violent, then don’t take meth. But if you are a good person who isn’t violent anyway, meth will NOT “make” you violent.

Meth can’t MAKE you do anything. All meth can do is reduce your inhibitions toward conduct you want to do ANYWAY, even when sober.

Meth Withdrawal: Psycotropic drugs like caffeine in coffee should not be regulated
Substances such as cocaine, ecstasy, crystal meth and heroin have all been declared illegal for their dangerous and addictive properties. Similar drugs, namely alcohol and tobacco, are legal but regulated by the government for commercial use.
