Why do people take illegal drugs?

I can’t understand why people do it! It’s so bad for you! I don’t mean just the full on “addicts” I also mean people that just do it when they go out and party.

They are just damaging their bodies, and in the long-term affect their physical appearance as well.

Coke, ice, speed, ecstacy, weed……… seriously what is the whole point of it?

And they know the side effects but they do it anyway..
Why are people so willing to sacrifice their health just to be “high” or whatever??
Put simply, I view taking drugs as the equivalent to taking poison, and I can’t understand why people would do that.
