why do people insist on using “suicide” as a verb?!?

Question by Megan Klein: why do people insist on using “suicide” as a verb?!?
This is what I found in the dictionary:
Suicide: (n) The act or an instance of intentionally killing oneself. The destruction or ruin of one’s own interests: It is professional suicide to involve oneself in illegal practices. One who commits suicide.

Obviously, the word “suicide” is not a verb so why on earth do people use it like one?!?!

It’s because they aren’t that smart.
It’s like those people that use the word “implode” when a building is destroyed with plastic explosives so it will collapse inwardly. They heard it on TV from some ditz on the news, and they think it’s correct. I have some real news for those very special people: it isn’t.
