Why are people so intrigued by drug addiction?

I am watching intervention. Now there is a new show about addiction on TLC and some celeb drug rehab…etc!

Doesnt this just make is seem cool to people? IDK…i guess that is stating the obvious…But it is not glamourous….i dont get it? I know i am watching it too, but WHY?!
