What’s wrong with Yahoo! Answers moderators?

Question by Michael Scott: What’s wrong with Yahoo! Answers moderators?
I posted a question in the Religion in Spirituality section posing the question as to why people with tattoos must cover them up when entering the vatican while people who have undergone plastic surgery are allowed in – and why tattoos constitute “defiling one’s body” if plastic surgery does not. The question was actually intended to promote discussion.

Apparently Y! staff found the question to be inappropriate and deleted it. Today I opened up the religion and spirituality section to find two questions, one entitled “How did Jesus kick his meth addiction?” and “Did Darwin really discover evolution or just want to free himself from cleaning ship?”

These questions are okay but mine is not?

There are no “moderators”. Questions get deleted by a machine if enough ordinary users report them.
If they report wrongfully, asker should appeal. The machine sends you an email about that.

A question being visible doesn’t mean they’re “okay”. It just means that not enough people reported it.

As to “promote discussion”, this site is not a forum. Without knowing the exact wording of your question I can’t tell you if you should appeal though.

Of course, the bible clearly states that god doesn’t want you to tattoo or cut yourself *in his name*, but it says nothing about cosmetic surgery – but that’s beside the point here
