Seriously! 90 days in jail for failing to attend court-mandated rehabilitation once a week, after being let off on cocaine possession and DUI? And she’ll likely only serve under 25 days.

After prop 36 passed in LA, the rehab makes sense for the coke. However from what I’ve read, the first DUI offense buys you any combination of a 6 month license suspension, 2 days to 6 months jail time, at least $ 1500 in fines and court fees, and/or probation of at least a year.

So tell me, how is it that in the first place, Lohan got off with rehab only? What makes her so special?

Bear in mind, I’m aware that she is a celebrity, though I’m sure you’re tempted to post.

The real arrogance and disrespect to the general public lies with Lohan’s mother, who thinks that jailing her daughter for dodging court mandate is somehow “unfair”. If it were anyone else’s daughter, she might think differently.

Should celebs in these situations be made example of, to prevent teens from committing similar injustices?

The answer is simple: money! People who have a higher status and wealth are put on a pedestal..they are basically superior to the regular people. So, because they do not identify with being regular, they will not get regular punishments
