What is the recovery like from a total knee replacement?

Question by Carla M: What is the recovery like from a total knee replacement?
I am having my right knee replaced in September and am a little concerned about what to expect re my recovery. I live alone and will have to contend with stairs, driving, etc.

Very… Very… Slow.

Ive had a few people i know have this does. some after months and months still feel there knee isnt the same as it used to be.
