What is the official position of the Jehovah’s Witnesses on 12 step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous?

Question by David H: What is the official position of the Jehovah’s Witnesses on 12 step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous?
I would imagine that they are against them since the concept of “God as we understood him” would be blasphemous to a Witness.

If so, are there alternatives available to Witnesses who struggle with addictions?
