What is the most abused drug in the United States?

At one time I thought it was perscription drugs due to their easy and cheap access (due to insurance, etc). I was informed by law enforcement that the most abused drug in the United States that it was meth. A few days ago, I noticed a National Geographic DVD about the most abused drug – Meth.
