What is recovery like?
Question by manuel d: What is recovery like?
I am an alcoholic and a drug addict.
I will change November 8, 2009.
I am a good person, but I have allowed my substance abuse to blur lines of Honesty, Trustworthiness, Honor, Self, Family, Thrift, and God.
I will change November 8, 2009
These blurred lines have allowed me to temporarily justify selfish decisions, each one eventually illuminated by my moral compass, each one manifesting into regret, the sum of which is presently unbearable.

I live in two realities, the First being a host for the Second. Within the Second I act without regard to consequence, all consequence postponed for reckoning upon reentering the First, while drawing Happiness from the First at will. Continuously making decisions without regard to consequence, within the Second, has made existing within the First seemingly hopeless. In the First, I find Happiness only upon the transition to the Second. Presently in the Second, the damage inflicted upon the First, has left nothing to draw from.

I will not use excuses concerning inequality or fairness to justify my inability to succeed.

I will change November 8, 2009
The alternative does not exist.
