What is methamphetamine?

Question by lilynguyen: What is methamphetamine?
I’m doing a paper on addictive drugs and I can’t look up meth without all these long articles about how it was used in World War 2 and whatnots. Basically, what is meth? I know it’s a drug, duh. What is it? Why do we have it? What makes it so addictive? Beside crystal meth, what else is it called?? Need Help. Thanks:)

methamphetamine is a drug it is made up of: Sodium hydroxide,Anhydrous Ammonia,Iodine,Matches – Red Phosphorus,Ephedrine,Ether,Drano,Brake Fluid,Lighter Fluid – Butane and Hydrochloric acid

what meth does to you is it produces a synthetic (fake) chemical that is released into your brain called dopamine this “fake” dopamine then causes you to think you are happy when really your all jacked up while the fake dopamine kill your actual dopamine chemicals

other names for methamphetamine are Speed, Meth, Ice, Crystal, Chalk, Crank, Tweak, Uppers, Black Beauties, Glass, Bikers Coffee, Methlies Quick, Poor Man’s Cocaine, Chicken Feed, Shabu, Crystal Meth (sorry i know there is more but this is all i could think of)

the reason we have it is because during WW2 a chemist invented this “drug” to keep the soldiers awake at night or during guard meth was giving to these soldiers in very small amounts so there was really no damage done, but now people who abuse meth take it in larger amounts meth can either
be; snorted, injected, smoked, eaten,or you can drink it

oh and its addictive because you feel pleasure when you are high of meth…so its kills your dopamine chemicals so you are no longer able you feel happiness the only way to feel good is to do it again
