What do i have to do to become a substance abuse counselor?

i am very interested in become a substance abuse counselor. Like Dr. Drew, i want to help people with their addictions. I live in Texas. what kind of classes would i have to take in collge? how long would i have to be in college? I am planning on taking psychology next year if that helps anything!
