Question by Cable Girl: What are the signs of drug abuse withdrawal of someone coming out of anesthesia?

a drug addict has brain surgery. post op, during recovery, he’s agitated, and combative. is this a result of the withdrawal from opiates, barbituates, benzo’s, etc? he used these within 24 hours of the surgery.

Your question doesn’t make sense. And I’m an anesthesiologist. Anesthesia does not precipitate withdrawal, and would probably actually prevent it for a while.
