Everyone (majority) uses drugs, whether it be coke, weed, advil, or birth control… but when someone uses the term drug user, we automatically think of a druggie hoped up on coke….
SO… what does this tell us about the social contruct of language?

Usually, when we say “drug user” we are talking about a user of illicit drugs. That’s just the way that these words are used in our culture.
