Question by andie l: What are the best institutions here in Castine, Maine that offer substance abuse treatment?
Although my mother is not saying it, I know that she has problems. Lately, she always go out and drink at the nearest bar. She’s not really like this until now. I don’t really know how to talk to her because I don’t know how to deal with people involved in alcoholism. I feel like I need the help of an expert so I can speak with my mom and help her cope with too much drinking.

Many times rehab is more effective for people if they get out of their hometowns, preferably far enough away to not be in contact with the people that are enabling them.

But there is a counseling center in Castine that may really help your mother. If you are looking for something bigger than a substance abuse counselor, you might have to look outside your city a little.
