Very bad addiction, slight addiction…what’s worse?

Question by klimlover: Very bad addiction, slight addiction…what’s worse?
Ok, I know every idiot will throw there opinion at me here, but Im specifically hoping for replies from psychologists, addiction counselors, and people with direct experience with addiction.

For the most part, I never had a problem with any one drug until about a year ago. Bout a year ago I learned how to use a needle and went on about a 6 month coke via needle binge. Obviously that was bad and at the time i considered rehab, etc.

I quit, and since have barley touch any drugs. I have no desire to do cocaine.

Yet, occaisionally I still get cravings, only maybe once or twice a month. They easily pass after a few minutes and I go on with life. SO heres the hard question, when my drug problem was bad, I knew the solution was rehab, life changes, etc.

But what about my current situation? At this point a stint in rehab probably would be more damaging because of the cost. When I was bad, I knew what the answer was, but now, I feel like there is no solution. Any ideas?

I would talk to people that are getting over an addiction..an aa for drug users support group. That slight temptation mixed with some bad fight you have with a girlfriend or whatever might get you back into f**k it mode. Start new activities with a different crowd.
