Ban on 3 synthetic drugs
IN A preemptive move against abuse, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) is banning three synthetic drugs, which are known to be used as Ecstasy substitutes. From Monday, benzylpiperazine (BZP), Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine (TFMPP) and Mephedrone will be listed as Class A drugs – the same category as heroin, which means stiffer penalties for trafficking and using them.
