UCMJ Question RE: Controlled Substances?

Question by oh_froggit: UCMJ Question RE: Controlled Substances?
This probably sounds like a strange question… my husband is in the Army Reserves and after a lot of confusion has finally been able to resume going to drill after a terrible car accident a few years ago. For the moment he has private insurance rather than Tricare, and was prescribed Adderall by his GP. So, of course when they popped a urinalysis on him at drill he failed. He is at this moment waiting to speak with a Lt. they are trying to kick him out due to illegal substance abuse (amphetamines). BUT it’s not illegal, he has a valid prescription! I know that no one here can tell me for sure, but how likely do you think it is that they will actually kick him out over this BS? I think it’s absolutely ridiculous, if they don’t want him on Adderall then they should tell him to stop taking it, not kick him out.

if he’s on adderall and didn’t disclose his adhd they have every right to kick him out…..he’d of had to had a waiver for it (adhd) before going to basic
