Turtle Island Oxygen Trust Sponsors Free Hyperbaric Treatments
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) April 28, 2009
A landmark double-blind study was published this month showing hyperbaric treatments to be effective in children with the diagnosis of autism (http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2431/9/21/abstract). There has already been a double-blind study published showing hyperbaric treatments to be effective for Cerebral Palsy.
The Turtle Island Oxygen Trust in association with the Hyperbaric Medical Center of New Mexico, under the directorship of K Paul Stoller, MD, FACHM, is offering this service because most 3rd party payers refuse to reimburse for hyperbaric treatments unless a child has carbon monoxide poisoning or decompression sickness. The access children have to innovative treatments when they need them is minimal. This is not unique to the United States. Dr. Stoller testified in a trial in Stockholm this month on behalf of a child with autism for this very reason.
Children with CP and autism need treatment today – waiting until authoritative bodies form consensus is not acceptable when there is a benign, humanitarian and risk free FDA approved therapy available today.
Dr. Stoller is an adviser to the MIND Institute at UC Davis that is completing an open label study of children with autism being treated with 100% oxygen under pressure.
Prospective patients need only fill out a simple form to be considered for these benign and effective treatments.
