Question by †: Trying to sort this out… does this logic really make sense? How society views spanking…?
Most if not all people who are pro-spanking (and even those who aren’t) will probably tell you that it’s ok to swat your young child whose three or so, but it is not ok to swat a teenager. If you are swatting a three year old it’s a fine way to teach good moral agenda, but if you are a parent swatting a teenager that means that you are a child abuser and should be put in jail.
Now, my question is, WHY?
Since teenagers are bigger and much much more matured should it not actually be considered more abusive to swat a child?
And before you say “well in a teenager it could be sex abuse” please note that peadophiles (people who are sexually attracted to children who have not yet reached puberty) would be very limited in their ways of hiding their fetishes and are bound to utilize this one, wheares people who have normal sexual psyches can express that in an unlimited number of ways.
Why should a 16-year-old who is hit call CPS but a 3-year-old who is hit is building character?
And for the record, I am against spanking of children of ALL ages.
And I do understand why it would be useless to attempt to disipline an older child with corporal punishment, but I do not know why it is considered child abuse but using it on little ones is not.
Please explain your reasoning.
HooKooDooKu, do you consider it to be abusive if parents spank their teens and why?
