Traumatic brain injuries linked to depression
Survivors of concussions are almost eight times more likely to become clinically depressed, researchers report. In the year after a traumatic brain injury, roughly half of survivors will likely experience a bout of clinical depression — a rate almost eight times higher than that found in the general population, a study published Tuesday in the Journal of the American Medical Assn. has found.
