Tobacco vs. Marijuana?

Question by Eric: Tobacco vs. Marijuana?
I am a minor and just went into rehab for pot because my mom caught me.
I told my mom marijuana is not nearly as harmful as tobacco and she told my rehab person counsellor. So now for homework for my rehab i have to look up which is worse.
So here is my question. What are the effects of marijuana and what are the effects of tobacco?

marijuana, if it had never been found until today, would be considered as great a medical miracle find penicillin but its history and what its associated with is part of the reason its illegal (taken from a harvard test)
