TI Arrested

www.mahalo.com Rapper TI was reportedly arrested on drug charges just five months after finishing a prison sentence on federal weapons charges. The Associated Press says TI, whose real name is Clifford Harris, and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were pulled over during a traffic stop in West Hollywood on the evening of September 1, 2010, after “deputies smelled marijuana” coming from their vehicle. The AP says TI and his wife were charged with “suspicion of possessing methamphetamines.” The couple were released from jail early on the morning of September 2, on 000 bail each. TI is still on probation for the weapons case. The 29-year-old, Grammy Award-winning rapper served seven months in an Arkansas federal prison and three additional months in a Georgia halfway house after being convicted of “possessing unregistered machine guns and silencers.” TI was granted three years of “supervised release,” and a judge ordered him not to commit another federal, state or local crime during that period. He was also ordered “not to illegally possess a controlled substance.” How will this arrest affect TI? Is he heading back to prison? The AP quotes Patrick Crosby, a spokesperson for the US Attorney in Atlanta as saying he “had no immediate comment on whether the rapper violated the terms of the judge’s order.” TI currently stars in the heist-movie ”Takers,” which was the number one movie at the box office in its first week of release.
