Im 16 male and my granddad die a few weeks ago and since then ive been really moody and more shorty tempereded, depressed, i cant sleep, ive been really irritable, i find myself getting mad at the little things, i havent been eating, excessive sadness, withdrawal and mood swings are more often.
this is a nervous breakdown or depression?

sounds like his passing really effected you. it may just be the grieving process . this was very difficult for me when i lost a good friend, and recently my stepfather in 2010. may be depression but may ease as time goes by… yes, time passes but we’ll always miss them and if ur like me i believe we’ll see them someday again.i find comfort in that.

It’s grief, hon. You’re sad and mad because your grandpa died.
Things will get better over time. Tell your parents I suggested some grief counseling for you. You’ll see — everything you’re feeling right now is completely normal.
Maybe it would help if you did something to honor your grandpa, and turn your grief into a positive. Like, how about if you make a memory book where you write down stories about your grandpa that you don’t want to forget.
Or how about if you did some community service project as a way to honor him?
Just a couple of thoughts — but I promise you that over time you’ll be able to set the anger aside and you’ll be able to focus on the happy memories you have of your granddad.
