And the Church? What have you done to reach the man in full Besides presenting the gospel?
3. Mission complete: heroes and heroines of yesterday
We find in the story of the Good Samaritan a classic left (Luke 10.25-37) to confront us, because we notice clearly that the religious (the church) were indifferent to its next event, while a surge that is marginalized, rejected by the Jews, the called away from God “and presents a model in this situation, a pattern of good works as put into practice. And what has the church done? We need to grow in the field of ergon agate (good deeds). The Church must not in any way follow the examples of religious, giving back and passing over those who need help, those who long for help, however, we must walk on the paradigm established by this Samaritan.
Through the above what are the needs of my neighbor? Although we have no full conditions to rescue him, in the example left by the good Samaritan noticed that we perform good works that are within my reach and those that are out of my reach, we should seek to “deliver to the host” so that it gives continuity the good work begun.
Around us we have several coming that are sick in the body and soul, half-dead, hungry, without clothes, without drugs, unemployed, without access to basic supplies of life. What should be the answer for this community? Pass by? Pretending not to see? Place all blame the government? I believe the answer is bring them to God with a Bible in one hand and the other biblical ergon agates.
Our history is replete with men and women to follow the example of the Good Samaritan fought and worked with both hands to Christ, having the Bible in one hand and the other love of neighbor voiced by social works. We can quickly bring the memory eight names for our inspiration, which are: Martin Luther King – the pastor who had a bold dream. King James – translator of the Bible and visited prisoners. Catherine Booth – the mother of the salvation army.Dr. Robert Kalley – the man who distributed drugs from its own income. John Amos Comenius – an education for rich and poor. Gloucester – Christian journalist starts the movement that led to Sunday school. Florence Nathingale – the gospel that formed the basis of the current structure of nursing courses. Henry Dunnan – founded no less than the Red Cross.
CONCLUSION
We need to hear the story, listen to the Bible, apply the social work as an ally of evangelization externalizing the love of our master. What will our heroes of today, our modern world of today? For we can not pretend that good works are not part of the lives of those who truly serve the master and deny the absolute truth printed in James 4:17 “Therefore he who knows to do good and doeth it not him it is sin.”
