The Sundance Center Launches New Intensive Outpatient Programs Dec. 2, 2009
At a time when many dread family confrontations at Thanksgiving dinners, The Sundance Center is launching New Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) to support those dealing with drug and alcohol addiction. As an extension to their current Residential Programs, the Intensive Outpatient Programs Grand Opening (http://www.arizonaoutpatient.com) will be held Dec 2, 2009, 4-7pm in Scottsdale, Arizona. This New IOP will help people achieve sobriety, and assist them with keeping their relationships, career and family together.
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) November 19, 2009 — To help people address their addictions over the holidays, The Sundance Center is launching their New Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) with a unique Holistic Healing Approach on Dec 2, 2009. As part of the Journey Healing Centers (JHC), The Sundance Center offers customized recovery plans, professional solutions and a free 24-hour addiction hotline.
The Sundance Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) will offer flexible day and evening scheduling options for those who can’t commit full-time to one of their Residential Programs. Lisa Lannon, Journey Healing Centers Co-Founder, explains, “We want to give people a chance to get treatment even if they are not able to take time off from work and offer a transition from residential treatment for those who want and deserve continuing care.” The Sundance Center will provide 4 and 8-week IOP programs so there are many treatment options.
1. Why Cold Turkey Does Not Work
While some addiction experts believe chemical dependency can be treated simply by going Cold Turkey (LA Times, You Can Cut Back, 11/16/09), The Sundance Center IOP does not think it’s that simple. Their doctors and counselors advocate getting help from experts in a safe and supportive environment for the best long-term results.
Chuck Fenigstein, JHC’s Clinical Director, explains, “The reason why going cold turkey does not work, is primarily because it lacks focus on what each individual deserves. For example, medical detox under a Doctor’s care, is not only safer, but also allows us to begin the process of going beyond the symptoms to examine the underlying causes of the disease. We listen to and respect the client as they begin their journey. As a team, we empower and invest them in what works for “recovery for life.”
2. Holistic Healing Approach for the Body, Mind and Spirit
The Sundance Center IOP will specialize in both group and private therapy using a unique holistic approach for healing addiction through tools such as art therapy, yoga, equine therapy, relapse prevention, as well as individual and family counseling. The IOP will also offer medical services that include medication management, outpatient detox and nutritional/vitamin programs.
3. Free 24-Hour Drug and Alcohol Addiction Hotline
For someone with tough questions about drug and alcohol addiction (and especially during the holidays when there is so much pressure to be happy), Journey Healing Centers offers a free 24-hour hotline. Anyone can call 1-866-774-5119 anytime, anywhere to get answers from compassionate Addiction Specialists. Questions range from how long will a drug stay in my system to how can I enroll in a recovery center immediately.
