The show Intervention, on A&E makes me angry.?
Question by pinkbunny: The show Intervention, on A&E makes me angry.?
The fact that the addict is lied to and essentially, forced into treatment by people who “love” them angers me to the point where I cannot watch the show all the way through. I’m like this in real life as well and become hostile towards counselors, psychiatrists, doctors ect. who claim they are trying to “help” me – I have attempted to get help with problems I’ve had in the past but have ended up distrusting every professional I’ve encountered – if I sense they are, in any way, trying to change me. Is this normal? No sarcastic answers please…believe me, I’m hardly a normal person but am just curious if others share in this adamant mentality.

They are trying to help someone who is killing themselves and destroying any hope of a good future. Anything is fair game when someone you love fails so badly at life and they need help.
