Should we have assisted suicide-on-demand for certain types of people (like pedophiles?)?
Question by Chumley: Should we have assisted suicide-on-demand for certain types of people (like pedophiles?)?
We call them “sick” and say they “need help.”
What kind of “help” can you give a pedophile, though?
You can lock him up, and he’ll become a sex toy for other degenerates (prison”wolves”/booty bandits, who IMHO need to be taken out back and shot themselves… prison shouldn’t be a refinery for violence and degeneracy, but that’s what it has become in America today.)
OR, you can pump them full of useless drugs, which will at best make them sorry, disabled, dependent, useless people. We are really no better today at fixing “mental health” issues than we were thousands of years ago. Modern “mental health treatment” is just a less-brutal equivalent of
restraints and/or beating crazies into submission (which was the way “sick” – the more appropriate term might be “defective” – people were dealt with for centuries.)
Modern brain science is stagnant, and hasn’t discovered anything useful since the 1940’s (when psychosurgery was developed.) I’d be willing to bet that 20,000 years from now, we’ll be as helpless to deal with mental issues as we are today. Progress is THAT stagnant in brain science… read the literature if you don’t believe me! We will likely NEVER be able to fix pedophilia… but we can’t let them run around loose. We become monsters ourselves if we torture them (imprisoning them amounts to that – a pedophile in jail is like a piece of steak among hungry wolves. Also – why give prison booty bandits pleasure, they’re scum also!)
So – why not give pedophiles the option of an easy, painless death? It’s the most humane thing we can do for them (and for ourselves, when you think of it.)
To “Miss F.A.T.”:
The trouble with legitimizing torture is that
inevitably it will extend itself from pedophiles
and other “scum of the earth” to other
crimes (like selling pot, ect.)
America is also prone to religious whack
jobbery; and 54% of Americans now support torture of terror suspects, in a recent poll.
These things have a way of EXTENDING over time. History proves it! Add an increasing level of superstitiousness – like we’re seeing in modern America – to that and some horrific possibilities emerge.
(For example – want to see eccentric but harmless loners, ect. branded as witches and tortured/burned/racked? It happened before in history – DON’T believe it couldn’t happen again!)

I strongly believe that repeat offenders of any crime should be killed via a firing squad or some other form of inexpensive execution.
I don’t know if assisted suicide would work with pedophiles.
What if they don’t want to die?
You can’t call it suicide then, can you?
You make some good points but I for one don’t believe pedophiles or any other person who has seriously harmed another human being due to their own malice deserve a humane death.
They certainly didn’t take their victims’ feelings into consideration, so why should we show them some?
I guess you could argue that it doesn’t make us better than a criminal if we kill them.
To me, that does make sense and that does allow me to think about my beliefs a bit but I still stand by them.
That typed, I do think that, in extreme circumstances, some crimes, like murder, can be justified.
If you need to kill your attacker to protect you or your family, I see no problem with murder, especially if you have tried every other option to protect you or your loved ones and the person would not stop.
If I had it my way, thieves would, after being given one or two warnings, have a finger removed for each offense.
Heck, I sometimes think animals have more morals than humans do.
I could go on all night… L.O.L.
