Should Parents be Allowed to Get Away with NOT Spanking their Children?
Question by jhorcock2: Should Parents be Allowed to Get Away with NOT Spanking their Children?
This question is in response to another going the other way that someone posted a few minutes ago. Since children who are NOT spanked tend to be the ones who are more harmful to society it seems like if anything parents should be charged with negect or something if they effectively “abuse” their children by blatently failing to give them a proper upbringing by disciplining them in ways that actually work. Far too often I’ve seen kids acting up in public who should’ve been spanked on the spot and sadly weren’t, meaning of course that they will cause problems in the future too.
Personally I think that this should be up to the individual parent, but since anti-spanking parents seem so keen on labeling spanking as abuse and condeming it, I think it is high time that they got the same treatment since it is considerably more obvious that THEY, if anyone, are the ones who should be in trouble.
I realize that this is a controversial topic so there will probably be a bunch of people posting on here decrying my character for posting something that causes them to really finally look themselves in the mirror, but oh well. Sometimes the truth hurts.
As I said, this question is in response to several other questions that go the other way. The point of this question is to put those who usually do the accusing in the other people’s shoes. So far from the answers I’m getting it looks as though they don’t like it very much.
Mayhaps thats a clue that if they want people to butt out of their business in raising their kids they should do the same with others.
What goes around comes around.
As for the source someone asked for about non-spanked kids being more of a burden on sociery, the source is simply your brain every time you see a brat whining about some trivial thing in public and not getting punished for it. Every one of those whining brats is a burden on the society that has to sit and listen to them. You don’t have to read a website or a book written by “experts” to tell you that if you see those brats whining about something and the parents always telling them politely to stop and it NEVER works than clearly, CLEARLY that method is not working.
On the other hand if you go to Europe and see that same scenario that kid would be spanked immediatley and the situation would be instantly resolved.
For everyone talking about serial killers being spanked you should remember that most notorious serial killers are/were from generation(s) where virtually everyone was spanked, so you could also say that all serial killers were raised drinking water, milk or watching cartoons. Are water, mik, and cartoons the cause of serial killings? No more or less of a relationship there per se.
Well Lea, I may not have seen YOU posing question about making it illegal to spank, but I have seen literally HUNDREDS of other people do just that recently, so that is why I posted this question. To give THOSE people a little more perspective on things.
