I read this interesting article and was wondering.

Note: I am not talking about all drugs, for example PCP, LSD and meth.

I think the federal government should not be involved with any drugs, since basic crimes and permission for narcotics generally is a state issue. In my state I’d vote for marijuana to be legalized to reduce the power of cartels and the costs of jailtime, maybe cocaine, but not heroin. Heroin is addictive and I’m not sure I think someone is excercising ‘liberty’ if they are addicted. I realize that isn’t the purest point of view, but right now I just don’t see the social utility in legalizing heroin. I put heroin and meth right together.
