serax and alcoholics?

Question by ar2d23cpo: serax and alcoholics?
i have taken klonopin in the past for anxiety and it triggerd the erge to drink. i stoped takeing it because i am despritly trying to stay sobber. i recently started takeing serax for the anxiety and have lately found myself going out drinking. i dont drink for fun when i go out. i do it because sometimes i cant help myself. and i always go out alone. after being sobber for 6 months this is the pattern i have found myself falling into again. my question is can serax trigger the erge to drink in some people? do all the benzos have that potential for alcoholics? should i get off the serax or am i just haveing a hard time not drinking because i am an alcoholic?

Look, I am not sure about your specific question but I will tell you that the answer does not matter. I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober 10 years. You need to go to Alcoholics Anonymous. Go to 90 meetings in 90 days. Go until you get it. Go to different meetings until you find ones that you like. Don’t stop. Keep working it. There is no external force that you can take away that will make you stop drinking. Hope you know that I am telling you this because it is the only solution i have seen. You are not crazy. You are not horrible. There is no magic bullet. No magic pill and your alcholholism will just absess into something else. Your creativity will kick in and create the most ingenious ways for you to drink. Trust me, I know. There is not a pill that makes you drink. You drink because you are a drunk. That is what we do.
