RuneScape Charms Guide
RuneScape Charms Guide
This guide is collected that will show you a number of ways to get different charm drops easily and efficiently!
The following list is in order from best-worst and results of charm drops may vary for individuals
Gold Charm droppers:
– Hellhounds (level 122+) – Hellhounds have a good gold charm drop and drop a decent amount of crimsons as well. These are not reccomended for Green’s or Blue’s. They are also not worth killing for their charms as they are a high level which means they are harder to kill, and the reward would only be gold charms.
– Fire Giants (level 87) – These are a good way to get gold charms and they get you profit as well, but working hard to get gold charms is not reccomended. If your going to work harder, kill creatures that drop crimsons instead, as the reward will be more rewarding.
Green Charm droppers
– Rock Lobsters (level 127) – These are extremely good Crimson droppers (90% drop rate). Killing them, unfortunately, is costly BUT the advantages are great, 120+Crimsons/hour & 70k+ magic exp. These lobsters, are not only great crimson charm droppers, but are also decent gold, green & BLUE droppers! Yes! In about 1 hour of these I have gotten 12 blue charms once! 2 charms are dropped at once.
To kill these, Ancient Magicks is required for ice burst/ice barrage as they are multi-attack spells. The lobsters are found in the …….. The lobsters need to be lured so that you can barrage/burst them all at once. An average of 9 lobsters can be lured at one time. Reccomended: read a guide before attempting to reach the Rock Lobsters. Also, if you dont have a partner to help you with part of the journey (pressure pads part), the Clan Chat “burstinglobs” is very helpful! You can enter it and find a dp (door partner) and get their quickly.
– Waterfiends (level 115) – Waterfiends, actually have a higher drop rate of crimson charms (95% drop rate). This, does not necessarily mean that the hourly exp gained by waterfiends is higher then the lobs. They only drop 1 charm at a time. The advantage however, is that you can recover the cost of equipment with profit of about 200-300K. They are easy to get to and the chances of dying, are high, but less than rock lobsters. These creatures, specialize in crimson charms and also drop gold and green charms sometimes (blue’s are rare). A melee weapon with a “crush” attack style is reccomended at waterfiends, as the other attack styles do not work as well. Examples of efficient weapons with the crush attack style that work at waterfiends: Zamorakian Spear>Saradomin Sword>Dragon Mace>Rune Crossbow>Torag’s Hammers>Verac’s Flail. An ideal choice of a shield would be one with a high magic & range defence bonus.
– King Black Dragon (level 276) – Although this method of gaining charms is not reccomeneded, as KBD will be slow to get charms of course..it takes a while to kill a KBD (depends on your level) but the time can be worth it because of the special drops it has, such as a visage. KBD does have a high drop rate of crimson charms. Four charms are dropped at once.
Green Charm droppers:
– Bloodvelds (level 76) – These creatures, do not drop charms as frequently as waterfiends and the rock lobsters, but are one of the best choices to obtain green charms. One charm is dropped at a time. Bloodvelds, are fairly easy to kill and use a melee based magic attack which means that wearing armour that gives good magic defense (eg. black d’hide body, chaps etc.). They can be found at the Canifis Slayer Tower, God Wars Dungeon (only 1). Their are probably more locations at which you can find these monsters but…Canifis Slayer Tower would be the best place to kill them.
– Green Dragons (level 79) – This way of obtaining charms is a little bit slow but a lot of $$$$ can be made with this method! Green Dragons drop 1 charm at a time and are quite easy to kill. They have a higher tendency to drop green charms but these dragons are pretty much all rounders in dropping charms from green being most common, then gold, crimson, then finally blue.
Blue charms:
Blue charms are the hardest charms to obtain but give an extremely high amount of experience per charm! Blue charms, in some cases, give double the EXP than the exp a crimson charm gives! Unfortunately, no monster that drops blue charms at a high rate is known as of yet.
Summoning Tip:
If you want to get high summoning regardless of the money it will cost you, then the best thing to do, is to make the best pouch you can with the charms you have. For example, if your summoning level is 46, and you have 20 blue charms, making Iron Minotaur pouches is more expensive but better in exp than making Bronze Minotaur pouches.
